In & About - Ashland, Oregon

As the southernmost town in the I-5 corridor, Ashland is the gateway for many Oregon visitors.
It invariably leaves a good impression.

The main attraction is the Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
From mid-February through October, it presents 11 plays - four by the Bard - on three unique stages.

Tickets and bed and breakfast reservations can be hard to come by on weekends and in the summer months,
so plan in advance if you can. Better yet, schedule your visit for spring or fall.

While you're here, take the Backstage Tour. Then explore some of the other features that play a
leading role in the character of Ashland such as:

  • Unusual art galleries, antique shops and boutiques.
  • Lithia Park with its refreshing streams and ponds.
  • 13 Victorian homes on the National Register of Historic Places.
  • Southern Oregon State College's Schneider Museum of Art.
  • The historic Chappell-Swedenburg House
  • Nearby Mt Ashland with 23 ski runs and 100 miles of cross-country trails.
  • Wine Tasting - Southern Oregon Vineyards offer: Pinot Noir to Pinot Gris, Riesling to Gewurztraminer, Cabernet to Merlot, Chardonnay to Syrah.
  • The Dog Park
