A walkable beach 9 miles wide attract visitors to Cannon Beach. Fly a kite, watch the sea creatures in the tidepools, or take pictures of famous Haystack Rock. Haystack Rock is 235 feet high and is the third largest coastal monolith in the world. It has been designated as a marine and bird sanctuary, and is full of wonders. The tidepools around the rock have many intertidal animals in them, including limpets, barnacles, starfish, crabs, sea sculpins and anemones. Several bird species nest on the rock in the summer.
