  • Bluebill Campground (4 miles northwest of North Bend) has camping, trails, fishing, ocean beaches and sand dunes.
  • Cape Arago State Park (4 miles southwest of Charleston) has spectacular ocean views, whale watching, picnicking, tide pools and the Sir Francis Drake historical marker.
  • Horsfall Beach (5 miles northwest of North Bend) offers surf fishing, beachcombing, and is the southern entrance to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.
  • Golden and Silver Falls State Park (26 miles east of Coos Bay) feature old growth myrtlewood and douglas fir forest and two scenic 100" waterfalls.
  • Mingus Park (downtown Coos Bay, pictured at right) features a tranquil duck pond, walking trails, picnic area, tennis courts, swimming pool, playground and Japanese garden.
  • Sea Lion Viewpoint (between Shore Acres and Cape Arago state parks) offers winter and early spring whale watching and year-round sea lions and seals.
  • Simpson Park (North Bend) features a historical museum, picnic areas, tennis courts, an information center and a playground.
  • Sunset Bay State Park (3 miles southwest of Charleston) is in a wind protected cove and offers swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, tide pools, hiking trails, picnic area, bath house, boat landing and a campground.
  • Tugman State Park (13 miles north of North Bend) has swimming, bath house, fishing, boat ramp, picnic area and summer camping.

  • Powers Ranger District, Siskiyou National Forest The District offers several dispersed campsites throughout the area. Butler Bar, Rock Creek and Daphne Grove are fee campgrounds. Varied: The District office has brochures available. Office Hours: 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Office is one mile north of the city of Powers. Campsites are throughout the district.

    The Coos County Park system offers two camping areas for large groups.
  • Powers Park has a large area for groups, picnic tables, no hook ups.
