NORTH UMPQUA AND COLLIDING RIVERS VIEWPOINT - Travel east on Highway 138, your first stop on this tour
is the North Umpqua River at the Colliding Rivers Viewpoint. The North Umpqua and Little River crash head-on and emerge as a larger river.
Start fishing and take pictures as you continue up the Umpqua river. Beautiful waterfalls.
Then you can rest and stay at Lemolo Lake or Diamond Lake.
WILDLIFE SAFARI - Located in Winston, just a few miles south of Roseburg is a fabulous drive through zoo. You can gaze at the wildlife while relaxing in your car.
There are wild lions, elepants, rhinos, bears, and every other kind of wild animal. There is a great restaurant to take a break and have lunch.
DOUGLAS COUNTY MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY -Exit #123 off I-5 is the award-winning exhibits of Native Americans and immigrants to Douglas County from 1836-1950.
There is a Discovery area using computers. The children will love the hands-on experience.
ROCHESTER COVERED BRIDGE - East of Sutherlin off Highway 138 is the historic Rochester Covered Bridge. Stop at the Chamber of Commerce office for directions.
CAVITT CREEK COVERED BRIDGE - On Highway 138 from Colliding Rivers Bridge cross the bridge and turn left onto Little River Rd. (County Rd. #17), and travel south for 7.8 miles. The Cavitt Creek Covered Bridge will be on the right.
