Recreation in Sunriver



  • Bicycling - Sunriver enjoys 37 miles of paved pathways for bicycle and pedestrian use only.

  • Boating, Canoeing, Kayaking, Rafting - Floating or paddling the Deschutes River can be relaxing, scenic, and good exercise. Boats, canoes, kayaks, rafts, and equipment are available at the Marina or other rental firms in the Mall.

  • Fishing - Anglers can find just about all the challenges they would like on the Deschutes, Fall (fly fishing only), or Spring Rivers.

  • Flying - Scenic and charter flights of Central Oregon are available from Resort Air located at the Sunriver Airport, call 593-1860.

  • Fort Rock Park - Fort Rock Park, in the Tennis Hill area, provides recreational facilities for softball, volleyball, horseshoes, and includes a large, grassy field usable for soccer, baseball, football, and other activities.

  • Golf - Two beautiful 18-hole courses are located within Sunriver. They can be played on a daily greens fee basis or owners may purchase annual memberships entitling them to unlimited play.

  • Horseback Riding - Sunriver Stables offers lessons, trail rides, and various riding programs year round.

  • Ice Skating - During the winter season the miniature golf course in the Mall is transformed into an ice skater's paradise.

  • Lake Aspen - A wildlife habitat near the Nature Center with observation points and paths where ducks, geese, otter, and other native wildlife may be observed.

  • Miniature Golf - Centrally located in the Mall complex, this covered facility is open from late spring until its conversion in the fall to an ice skating rink.

  • Racquet Club - Situated within Tennis Village, the privately owned Sunriver Racquet Club offers three indoor tennis courts , five racquetball courts, an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, locker rooms, pro shop, and an exercise room with a variety of equipment. Use of the club facilities is on a membership basis.

  • Skiing - In Sunriver, weather permitting, cross-country skiing is delightful. Trails are groomed on the golf courses and there is excellent cross-country skiing in the nearby countryside and on the groomed trails at Mt. Bachelor.

  • Swimming - The association owns and operates two outdoor swimming pools. The South Pool is located in the Sunriver Lodge complex and features a 50-foot water slide popu lar with young swimmers. The North Pool is situated adjacent to the North Golf Course pro-shop building.

  • Tennis - There are 26 tennis courts available at a number of locations throughout Sunriver. Owners and their guests playing with them may play free on presentation of Owner Access Cards. Court fees are charged for guests not playing with owners or for the general public.

  • Other Recreation - Other recreational activities available to Sunriver owners and their guests include jogging, conditioning classes, hiking, and much more.

  • Crater Lake - 20 scenic overlooks along the way, the 33-mile Rim Drive around Crater Lake provides a multitude of spectacular views. Open only during the summer (closed to the public from mid-October to mid-June due to snow and ice buildup), this two-lane road offers access to many wonderful hikes.
